Why I built Echoes
I've always been a nostalgic person. I love old photos, videos, and vacation albums.
In 2025, my mother turned 72. I'd been playing around with AI for a while, and I wanted to make her a special gift - to take her old childhood photos and the photos of her parents, and bring them back to life. I tested multiple models, tweaked a lot of prompts, and after plenty of trial and error, I managed to create a full video gift of her memories coming to life.
That's how Echoes was born. I figured that if I could simplify all of that, anyone could create an emotional video gift of their parents - or their grown children - in minutes, without the trial and error.
The pivot to Growing videos of children was a big evolution for Echoes: emotional tributes to the most valuable people in our lives - our children.
Since I launched Echoes, hundreds of families have gotten this gift - and felt the emotion, the excitement, and the warmth of seeing their loved ones over the years. The feedback and the thank-yous have meant everything to me, and I want to keep going, and bring as much of that joy as I can.
